Synopsis

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Party Crasher and Love Your Life …

Life has been good to Becky Bloomwood: She’s become the top personal shopper at Barneys and she’s living happily with her boyfriend, Luke, in Manhattan’s West Village. But with her best friend, Suze, engaged, how can Becky fail to notice that her own ring finger is bare? Not that she’s been thinking about marriage (or diamonds) or anything.

Then Luke proposes! Problem is, two other people are planning her wedding: Becky’s overjoyed mother—who has been waiting forever to host a backyard wedding, with the bride resplendent in Mum’s frilly old gown; and her highsociety soon-to-be mother-in-law—who insists on a glamorous, all-expenses-paid affair at the Plaza. Both weddings, on separate continents, on the same day … and Becky can’t seem to turn down either one. Can everyone’s favorite shopaholic tie the knot before everything unravels?

“Sophie Kinsella keeps her finger on the cultural pulse, while leaving me giddy with laughter.”—Jojo Moyes, author of The Giver of Stars and The Last Letter from Your Lover

About Sophie Kinsella

I think I could have written a series of books on being a Shopaholic, but British author Sophie Kinsella had beat me to it. In 2000, she had her big hit novel, the first in the Shopaholic series.....The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic. The great irony is that the book's main character is Becky Bloomwood, who is a financial journalist who should be giving sensible money spending and saving advice. However, she loves to shop, and is hopeless with money! It struck a nerve with many readers around the world. The other books in the series are: Shopaholic Abroad (Shopaholic Takes Manhattan), Shopaholic Ties the Knot, Shopaholic and Sister, Shopaholic and Baby, Mini Shopaholic, Shopaholic to the Stars, and Shopaholic to the Rescue. Her first novel in the series was produced as a movie by Disney as, Confessions
of a Shopaholic.

Other books she has written include: Can You Keep a Secret?, The Undomestic Goddess, Remember Me?, Twenties Girl, I've Got Your Number, Wedding Night, My Not So Perfect Life, and Surprise Me. Her latest work is I Owe You, which is described as being empowering.

Sophie lives in London with her husband, Henry Wickham, four sons and a daughter.

I love Sophie Kinsella's writing style so much! Her books are like candy and I can't get enough! I love how Rebecca isn't a totally likable character; she has her flaws but she always learns from her mistakes in the end and becomes stronger. I was obsessed with the first half of the book as I'm tota......more

Oh, Becky! What a mess you got yourself into. Planning two weddings because it is hard to say no? Luckily you always manage to land on your feet again!......more

I love Kinsella's books, and I loove Becky, but this one was my least favorite. The way she had to drag on the wedding decision totally wore out my patience. What sucked was that THAT was basically the main part of the story. At some point, I was so irritated at her that I wasn't really concentratin......more

3,3 stars. O melhor da série Louca por Compras que li até agora. Rebecca evolui bastante na sua personagem. É um livro divertido, com mais conteúdo. Foca o relacionamento de Luke com a mãe. ════ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ════ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ════ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ════ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ════ 3.3 stars. The best of the Shopaholic series I've read so far. Rebecc......more

I know a 2-star rating is typically an automatic: "she didn't like it", but I am using the formal goodreads definition for the rating here. It was OK. To be honest, I am playing catch-up on this series now that my library has finally added the audiobooks, and reading about Becky's epic avoidance-lad......more
