Synopsis

A convenient marriage takes a passionate turn in New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer’s Long, Tall Texans: Grant, originally published as Paper Husband in 1995.

Dana Mobry has worked her family’s Texas ranch her entire life. The cowgirl knows every inch of the property like the back of her hand, but she might find a ring on that same hand sooner rather than later. Where does it say a rancher’s daughter has to marry a long, tall Texan—or lose her cherished home? In her father’s will—and Dana’s just discovered that her partner in this marriage of convenience is none other than the sexiest cowboy in Texas, Hank Grant!

About Diana Palmer

Sometimes, there are those people who have interests in several fields. Such are the interests of American author Diana Palmer (AKA Susan Spaeth Kyle). Susan Spaeth was born in Cuthbert, Georgia in 1946 to parents who both had busy careers. She and her younger sister Dannis were raised in Chamblee, Georgia, where they graduated from Chamblee High School. However, it was their move to Cornelia, Georgia where Susan met her future husband, James Kyle. They married in 1972, and had two children, Blayne and Selena.

Susan returned to college when she was 54, and graduated from Piedmont College Summa Cum Laude in 1995. By that time, she had written many novels, with her first novel having been written in 1979 under the pseudonym, Diana Palmer. With over 150 novels in print, and even more being translated to different languages, she continued to work on her Master's Degree as her time permitted. Even before her novel writing career began in earnest, she was a journalist for several years. Her interests are so varied that it serves to expand her writing subjects. A major in history with a double minor in Archaeology and Spanish gave her great credentials for her historical romance novels. Her Masters work includes History, with an emphasis on Native American Studies.

How can you lose when your interests include, first of all, being a wife and mother, then a writer, followed by gardening, knitting, crocheting, astronomy, archaeology, and animals, of which she has dogs, cats, birds, and lizards!! There should be a lot of good writing material in there somewhere.

Novella-length story set in the Jacobsville universe, although I can’t tell where it fits. Somewhere after Coltrain's Proposal - Pinangan Coltrain and before the biscuitHart brothers. Rancher hero is still in love/lust with his golddigger ex-wife. Virgin heroine’s father has just died, and he has wr......more

Not as bad as I expected. Yes, high praise indeed. I'm not going to get into all the ways the hero was a jerk 'cause there's just too many. Arrogant asshole who throws the heroine's crush in her face, drools after selfish, shallow gold-digger ex-wife, seduces virginal heroine, throws more crap at the......more

I’ve wanted to read this book forever, so this could be an expectation thing, but this was just ok for me. I think the biggest issue is the length. It’s really short (less than 100pgs) and there just wasn’t enough page time for anything other than quick and surface-y. Dana’s (22) dad just died and pu......more
