Synopsis

Her career in tatters, celebrity photographer Lilah Rose needs somewhere to regroup and start fresh, outside of the spotlight. There's nowhere better to hide than the English countryside, complete with fluffy sheep, rolling hills . . . and Max, the stern, sexy farmer who tends to them.

But the lazy days and lush nights with Max aren't as far from the spotlight as Lilah thinks. He isn't simply a farmer—he's also a duke: young, handsome, and powerful . . . and too aware of how a title can dazzle, making the man inside invisible. What's the harm in playing the farmer for a while? After all, Lilah isn't staying . . .

Soon, Max is imagining just that, though—wondering what it would be like to have her on his land, in his life, in his bed forever. For that, he's going to need to tell her the truth . . . and hope he can convince her that he's a duke worth falling for.

About Sarah Maclean

American born author, Sarah Maclean, has given true credence to the historical romance novel. She has been a leader in demonstrating the usefulness of the romance genre, as having a place of importance in gender and cultural studies. Maclean had wanted to be a writer since she was a teenager. She ultimately received a B.A. degree in American Studies from Smith College. Ironically, Maclean and her friends read many romance novels while at Smith.

MacLean moved to New York City as a literary publicist, but then decided to get her master's degree from Harvard University. After returning to NYC, she wrote her first book, The Season, a young adult novel for teens. After that, Maclean wrote her first romance novel, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing A Rake. The Regency historical book received the Romantic Times Magazine Seal of Excellence.

Maclean has been a romance novel review writer for The Washington Post, since 2014. In 2019, she hosted the RITA Awards. She also started a podcast called Fated Mates. She lives with her husband in Brooklyn, New York, and is a self-described feminist.

This is Sarah MacLean's only current contemporary romance (I think), and I really liked it. American style photographer + English duke. Very well developed for a novella, and this made me even more excited for the contemporary novel she has coming out next year.......more

I'm inducting a new novella to my annual re-reads list. A Duke Worth Falling For is an exquisitely wrought Fall/Autumn novella that captures the crisp air of the season along with the "we should enjoy every second of this time because soon it will be over" nature that imbues Octobers (at least for m......more
