Synopsis

Photographer Samantha Blakely is stunned when her beloved friend Gemini Delaney leaves her the controlling interest in her family business, a magazine conglomerate - the same conglomerate that owns Daylight Magazine, where Sam has just landed her dream job as a photojournalist. Then she meets her new boss, Christian Delaney, and his mere gaze leaves her wanting more. But how can she tell him that she's the Sam Blakely, who inherited the legacy he'd thought would be his? If he discovers the truth, he'll have every reason to hate her. What Sam needs now is a loophole...

About Fern Michaels

Self-described as someone who can scribble notes and tell great stories, author Fern Michaels, aka Mary Ruth Kuczkir, is a very prolific writer having written 147 books, with 90 being on the New York Times best sellers list. She was born in Pennsylvania, coming into this world as "a dinky little thing", as her father called her. She spent the early part of her adult life becoming a wife and mother of five children. After her children were grown, she separated from her husband, who was a very negative person, and began putting pen to paper to begin her writing career. She had always loved books, and writing one seemed to be the best chance for her to make her own way through the rest of her life. Her first manuscript was not published, but the second attempt was, and so began her illustrious career.

Her successful career allowed her to put all five children through college, on her own, which she claims is one of her most proud accomplishments. She says that when all is considered, family is the most important thing. Fern also bought a beautiful old (300 year old) plantation in South Carolina, where she still lives today. Her grandmother gave her very sage advice many years ago, which she lives by today.......when God is good to you, you have to give back. She developed the Fern Michaels Foundation which grants four scholarships to deserving students. She also opened a pre-school and day care center for single moms who are having a hard time supporting their family.

The quote that best describes is a Dutch saying.......If you can't whistle on your way to work, you don't belong in that job. She follows by saying, "I whistle all day long".

This would have worked better if it had been one of those over-the-top rom coms, as a book it just got annoying. What really bugged me was all the stuff about the alcoholic cats! The H's eccentric old aunt enjoyed her gin (which is what probably killed her) and thought nothing of making her pet cats......more

I’m a big fan of Fern Michael’s story’s and have read and really enjoyed many many of her books. I just didn’t understand why a woman in this day and age put up, much less fall for, a man that treated her the way he did. I read the entire story but have to say that this was not up to her usual writi......more

This book was okay. I’m not a fan of instant love and the two fall for each other as soon as they meet. A confession that should have been told gets way out of hand. The female was “oh I love him” when he is such a jerk to her after she tells him what happened. It was a enjoyable book but wasn’t a f......more

This is a cute short book about a nice girl that lives next door to a lady that dies and her will gives her lots of money. Since her name is Sam, everyone thinks she is a boy and the people looking to refute the will can't find "him". Cute ending.......more
