I did not like the epilogue...make the book longer or just stop it there. Pete was not a very good detective..I knew early on who "dun it". I thought there was an over emphasis on the food he ate, the cigarettes, and the drinking... I gave it two stars because I thought he did a good job of copying......more

If you like classic detective stories set in the 1930s, this book is for you. If you live/have lived in Wichita, KS, this book is for you. I land in both categories. It is fun to read a book set in the town in which you live and recognize street names. I'm not old enough to recognize most of the bus......more

A private eye based in Wichita in the 1930s with a few anachronisms. The author tried too hard to get his own opinions in the work which took me out of the story. It is is a good mystery. He basically gives away the ending several pages before the reveal, which perhaps wasn't the best choice.......more
