Synopsis

In this Christmas story, a poor girl named Tilly finds an injured bird in the snow and takes it home to care for it, believing in the lessons her mother has taught her concerning the golden rule and Christ's commandment to love our neighbors. Although her friends think she shouldn't take care of the bird, her kindness is rewarded unexpectedly on Christmas Eve. This version of Tilly's Christmas is included as a part of Dreamscape's The Christmas Stories of Louisa May Alcott.

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) was a prolific American author known for her novel, Little Women, and its sequels, Little Men and Jo's Boys. She received instruction from several famous authors, including Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Nathaniel Hawthorne, and she is commonly considered to be the foremost female novelist of the Gilded Age.

Susie Berneis is a versatile voiceover artist with numerous narration credits to her name. She has an ear for dialect and a love for the process of developing characters, which has been cultivated through her twenty-plus years of experience as a community and regional stage actress. Based in Ann Arbor (home of the University of Michigan, where she received her BA in English and theatre), she now takes great joy in playing all the characters she encounters in her narration.

Tilly's a sweet little girl who doesn't have much but understands the meaning of caring of others. Unbeknownst to her, her actions have farther reaching consequences than she realizes and in doing so, comes back to bless her in the end. Incredibly sweet holiday story about giving to others even when all you have to give is kindness. I read it to my kids who enjoyed it.
