Synopsis

Who controls reality? And how? Ask the timedivers who ride the paths of time, manipulate cultures, lift and cast down civilizations in their corner of the galaxy. They are the Temporal Guard at Quest, the single city of the Immortals of Query, that hidden planet circling a very ordinary yellow sun in a very ordinary galaxy. This is the story of the timediver Loki, and of the unending war for control of reality in that galaxy.

Modesitt Jr.'s novel *Haze* was the second adult science fiction novel that I discovered while becoming a *real* reader, and it was the first one that I discovered outside of school (I'd found Michael Chrichton's *Prey* in my read......more

The first book of his I ever read was "The Fires of Paratime" published by Timescape. This is basically a reprint by Tor & I was upset when it came out because it was supposed to be changed enough to warrant a new title. It wasn't. Excellent book, though.......more

While the book deals with time traveling, it is more of a fantasy novel than science fiction. And with that said, it's has more in common with a soap opera than your......more
