Synopsis

Torn between her ancestral home and her heart, Belinda Beverley must make a difficult choice. As one of the two remaining unmarried Beverley sisters, Belinda considers herself the last hope for Mannerling, the beloved estate gambled away by their father. Each of her four elder sisters had hoped—even schemed—to marry one of Mannerling's successive owners. But all had chosen true love over their ancestral home. Practical and duty-bound, Belinda would woo and wed Lord St. Clair, current holder of the estate. True, he is a silly fop, hardly what she desires in a husband, but she vows to make the man love her—even at the expense of her own happiness. Dashing Lord Gyre, however, can hardly ignore the ridiculous drama; Belinda is far too good for that dandy St. Clair. His lordship therefore decides it is his duty to win the lovely Belinda's heart.

Will another daughter marry for love? Or will she choose Mannerling? Another cute romance. There is so much info about the ‘fops’ of the Regency romances. For instance; MEN wore corsets instead of women, they also wore makeup. But the thing I really thought was interesting is that men wore shoes th......more

I liked it mostly because of the secondary characters, Lord St. Clair, Mrs. Ingram, Perry, and a few interesting views/information about rules, and life in those times/society. The main love story was more or less like others in this series. It had nice moments but wasn't great. [2.5 stars]......more

One by one, her sisters were supposed to marry the new owner of their beloved home in order to have it back in the family. And one by one, they all panicked and married someone else. The owners of this great house are not......more

I found all the subplots more enjoyable than the main characters' romance. I didn't feel like there was enough build up. The ending was great.......more
