Published in 1927, The President’s Daughter is one of the most controversial political memoirs in American history. In the book, Nan Britton recounts her long secret romantic relationship with Warren G. Harding, whom she claimed was the father of her daughter, Elizabeth Ann. The memoir was widely regarded as the first major American political “tell-all” and created a national sensation upon publication.
