Synopsis

“Read this book, strengthen your resolve, and help us all return to reason.” —JORDAN PETERSONThere’s a war against truth … and if we don’t win it, intellectual freedom will be a casualty. The West’s commitment to freedom, reason, and true liberalism have become endangered by a series of viral forces in our society today. Renowned host of the popular YouTube show The Saad Truth, Dr. Gad Saad exposes how an epidemic of idea pathogens are spreading like a virus and killing common sense in the West.Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Dr. Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic first-hand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society and how these have created serious consequences that must be remedied—before it’s too late.

This is another enjoyable read in the genre of pushing back against the excesses of political correctness and the seemingly growing illiberalism on the left. It’s not quite up there with Cynical Theories (by Helen Pluckrose & James Lindsay), The Madness of Crowds (by Douglas Murray), The Coddling of......more

The book is crisp, precise and extremely engaging with occasional burst out laughter opportunities either from the insanity of the anecdotes or the way Dr.Saad puts it. Amplifying the "must read"ness of this book is the core message of this book, fight for truth. In the current, caustic climate of de......more

Look, just read it. I constantly almost beg people to "try" and read books with an open mind knowing going in that many won't. I will go so far as to say many won't be able to anymore. "They" are simply too deeply indoctrinated. In this case let's try another tack. I challenge you to try and......more

“With disarming humor and withering logic, evolutionary behavioral scientist Gad Saad shows us that self-delusion is an equal-opportunity employer, not defined by race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, political leanings, or level of education. Nothing is taboo. To read The Parasitic Mind is to understand why so many people either embrace Saad for his clarity or reject him for holding up a mirror to their inconsistencies.” Paul A. Offit, MD, Maurice R. Hilleman Professor of Vaccinology, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and author of Deadly Choices: How the Anti-Vaccine Movement Threatens Us All

“His courage, his rationality, and his enthusiasm for that much-neglected thing, the truth, shine through this powerful book.” Matt Ridley, PhD, New York Times bestselling author of The Rational Optimist and How Innovation Works

“A wonderfully intelligent, witty, and riveting account of the politically correct madness engulfing our society. The Parasitic Mind is a must-read for anyone concerned about victim politics, cancel culture, and the assault on reason. “A virus is sweeping through our civilization—a mind virus corrupting the brains of students, professors, and the public at large—and The Parasitic Mind is the vaccine that will counter this pernicious pandemic.” Michael Shermer, PhD, publisher at Skeptic magazine and New York Times bestselling author of Giving the Devil His Due
