About Virginia Woolf

Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) was a major twentieth-century author, a great novelist and essayist, and a key figure in literary history as a feminist and a modernist. In 1917, she and her husband founded the Hogarth Press, which published the work of T. S. Eliot, E. M. Forster, and Katherine Mansfield, as well as the earliest translations of Sigmund Freud. Her major novels include Mrs. Dalloway, Orlando, The Waves, The Years, and Between the Acts. She is also the author of The Voyage Out, Night and Day, Jacob's Room, A Room of One's Own, and Three Guineas.

كنت قلقانة أني مش هفهم القصص أو مش هستمتع بأسلوب فرجينيا وولف المشهور مادمت بقرأه مترجم، لكن ترجمة فاطمة ناعوت لم تخيب ظني، وبالعكس، سعيدة أني قرأتها بترجمتها. دي أول مرة أقرأ لفرجينيا وولف بعد سماعي لمديح لا ينتهي عن قصصها وكتاباتها وعلي الاعتراف بأن قصصها (رغم أنها لا تتبع الأسلوب المعتاد في السرد)......more

حسنا يافرجينيا .. مادمتِ تجيدين السرد التقليدي لما كل هذا التعذيب في القصص الأولى ..!! يمكنني بكل بساطة أن أقول أن القصة الأخيرة المرأة والببغاء كانت جيدة إلى حد ما .. أما بقية القصص فهي غارقة في أفكار الشخصيات التي تكتب عنهم وبشكل ما لا يفهم مغزى ماتريد سواها ..! .. هذه المرأة تجيد الإستطراد بشكل مستفز......more
