This is a great book although it dragged a little towards the end. It is told in the first person by a child "Cadi Forbes." She is growing up in a clan in the remote mountains. This is one of my all time favorites! A great story set in the isolation of the Appalachian Mountains. I loved the generational relationships between the older women in the community and the children. Also, just the unpredictablity of the storyline. A great read!......more
