About The Author

Gertrude Chandler Warner grew up in Putnam, Connecticut. She wrote The Boxcar Children because she had always dreamed about what it would be like to live in a caboose or a freight car―just as the Aldens do. When readers asked for more adventures, Warner wrote more books―a total of nineteen in all. After her death, other authors have continued to write stories about Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden, and today the Boxcar Children series has more than one hundred books.

My kids really enjoyed this little mystery. They loved learning a little bit about bee keeping. Spoiler alert: the cranky lady you meet in the beginning is troublesome for the Alden children. But don’t worry, she comes around.......more

Such a good book about how even kids can handle bees and honey. The kids really impressed me especially Benny and Henry. There was one part when bees had swarmed on a branch. I saw the same at my workplace, and it is way more shocking in real life than how everyone acted in the book, haha!......more
