Synopsis

Milly Darrell is a Victorian novel of youth, vulnerability, and moral trial. Forming close friendships, she is gradually drawn into emotional conflicts and family secrets that test her innocence. Braddon explores the precarious position of young women, the pain of growing independence, and the quiet resilience needed to face betrayal and hardship.
