I've read three novels by Hans M. Hirschi in the past month, and this is without a doubt my favourite, yet it's the only one of the three where I have been in two minds whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. This is a heart-warming tale that shows that true love, compassion and companionship can be found in a sometimes cruel world. I imagine that many people who have faced struggles in their lives will connect with this book. Although sometimes the scenarios seemed far fetched - it added to the escapism......more
