Frederic L. Paxson (1877–1948) was an American historian. He also served as president of the Mississippi Valley Historical Association. He had undergraduate and PhD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a master's from Harvard University

Very readable and logically organized. When I got to the Texas chapter, I was kind of surprised by its brevity, so I do wonder about some of the chapters concerning historical events I was not as familiar with. I enjoyed my time with this book. Learned a lot.......more
