Chuck Warner has been a leader in competitive swimming for nearly fifty years through his coaching, writing, speaking, and service. In 2022, he became one of less than one hundred coaches in American history to be inducted in the American Swimming Coaches Hall of Fame. He is a three-time USA National Team coach, coached seven national championship teams (YMCA), and three NCAA Division II runner up teams. Coach Warner has previously authored several highly acclaimed books on swimming: Four Champions, One Gold Medal, …And Then They Won Gold: Stepping Stones to Swimming Excellence, and EDDIE REESE: Coaching Swimming, Teaching Life. He has also written more than fifty articles published by Swimming World, USA Swimming, American Swimming Magazine, and SwimSwam. Soft cover copies of all books are available at WWW.CHUCKWARNERBOOKS.COM.
Dana Abbott was head coach at Katy (TX) high school for twenty-five years, and twelve more years at St. John XXII. He has been a speaker/clinician locally, nationally, and internationally, president of TISCA and twice president of NISCA. Chuck and Dana were assistant coaches on Eddie Reese’s first staff at Texas and have collaborated previously on books and articles.
“Listeners meet enthusiastic and nostalgic swimmers of all ages who were involved in garnering Reese’s 39 Olympic Gold Medals and 15 NCAA titles. Warner’s smooth delivery keeps frequent time and location changes clear. Most atmospheric is Reese’s own gravelly timbre as he shares his belief that in addition to the obvious skills needed to succeed as an athlete, a strong self-image and enjoyment are key. He emphasizes that being respectful, even to defeated opponents, is essential to good sportsmanship.” AudioFile magazine
“Eddie Reese, no person a better coach no coach a better person. This book says it all. A master class from a true genius in our sporting world.” Bill Sweetenham, five-time head coach, National Teams and Olympics
“A master love story. Eddie Reese demonstrates to all of us that when you fill your life with love, you change forever those whom that love launches.” George Block, president, World Swimming Coaches Association
“He is the finest man and most effective coach…Not just in the highly competitive field of world class swimming…I mean any coach, in any sport.” Rick Perry, US Secretary of Energy, former governor of Texas
