Synopsis

Dr. P. J. Miller is back! Following his first installment, Cute Poodles, Sweet Old Ladies & Hugs, he has compiled another volume of truly awesome veterinary tales. Come along for the ride again as Dr. Miller delivers stories that feature colorful clients, endearing pets, his own beloved bulldog, and a hurricane. All the sassy hospital staff that listeners came to love are back, including that special staff member who seems to work by her own particular standards of professionalism (you know the one).

In Designer Dogs, Awkward Hugs & Pigeons, Dr. Miller goes behind the scenes of his veterinary practice to provide a true insider's view into life as an animal doctor. He employs the same unique style of humorous storytelling that listeners loved in his first novel. Hidden behind the humor, Dr. Miller gives a deeper glimpse into how emotional and strong the human-animal bond can be. A must listen for any aspiring veterinary professional or animal lover.

About Dr. PJ Miller

Dr. P. J. Miller was born and raised in the heart of New York City, Midtown Manhattan. Dr. Miller graduated from the prestigious Royal School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for over seventeen years and owned his own practice for over a decade. He lives with his wife and two children in central Florida. He loves all animals, obviously, but is partial to bulldogs, chihuahuas, and cats that act like dogs. Like most transplanted New Yorkers, he's still looking for that perfect slice of pizza.

When it came to parts of the book with Jen, I skipped those. Jen, remember one thing, there is always someone out there that can do......more

Who hasn't wondered what a animal doctor does. I personally am a little more invested because my daughter really wants to be one when she grows up, so this was the perfect read for me. I loved the use of comedy from Miller, it had me laughing throughout. I liked the authenticity of his writing, you......more

Dr Miller has an eye and an ear for characters and mannerisms, including his own, so that everyone comes to life as he writes. There's the 'ex-New Yawk' characters who are passionate but not rational, the loyal and dedicated vet techs and pets' carers and then there's the vets and the pet's foibles.......more
