Synopsis

Ever since she discovered she's pregnant, Elena Michaels has been on edge. After all, she's never heard of another living female werewolf, let alone one who's given birth. But thankfully, her expertise is needed to retrieve a stolen letter allegedly written by Jack the Ripper. As a distraction, the job seems simple enough—only the letter contains a portal to Victorian London's underworld, which Elena inadvertently triggers, unleashing a vicious killer and a pair of zombie thugs.

Now Elena must find a way to seal the portal before the unwelcome visitors get what they're looking for—which, for some unknown reason, is Elena.

This was a very slowmoving story. Half of the book involves sniffing out trails or thinking about following trails. There would be no story if the bumbling werewolves were even remotely competent, but sadly they spent their time losing the people they are following, missing obvious clues, and being captured while being pathetically unable to escape on their own. Weak. I enjoyed the mostrecent Men of the Otherworld book, so this was a real disappointment.

Reading Broken and Men of the Otherworld simultaneously allowed me to realize what I had long been suspecting, I read Armstrong for the men of her Otherworld, not the women. Strike that, I read Armstrong for the Werewolf men of her Otherworld, not the women. I’ll admit that I shamelessly passed over......more

[3.5/5 stars] Mini Review: Broken was a decent bounce-back from Haunted, with the added benefit of Elena once again as the POV. I’d heard this was another Elena book before diving in, and I admit to setting some expectations that it would also be another “werewolf” book with all the same intense fee......more

We are back to the pack! First thing we learn? Elena and Clay are PREGNANT. That's a whole new thing. Since there has not been a known female werewolf besides Elena, there has never been a child with two people who have the blood of the wolves. Now there are. Elena doesn't know if she is able to actu......more
