Synopsis

The Bonds of Magic are stronger than death.

Old enemies seek revenge, and new opponents hunger for Kincaid's power. Knowledge tempts Kincaid to leave his artisan life far from the clutches of magic for a venerable city living in the shadows of its former glory. An ancient cult hides within the folds of religious orders and craves Kincaid's abilities as an archmagi. He is the key to unleashing the bonds of magic. Only his steadfast friends and his abilities as a Chronomancer stand between him and this ruthless organization's goal to redefine the structure of arcane might.

Can he regain his power through the Bonds of Magic and stop their plans to unleash an arcane apocalypse?

About Mark August

Writing for work or academics is not the same as writing what an author loves. For Mark August, his passion for fantasy and science fiction came from late nights of page-turning reading. In 2016, his older daughter challenged him to Camp National Novel Writing Month (Camp NaNoWriMo), and storytelling emerged from a dormant childhood dream. Camp NaNo and NaNoWriMo every year is now a tradition.

In 2020, the pieces came together with a Writers of the Future Honorable Mention for a short story inspired by the background for one of the key characters in the Chronomancer series. It was time to share writing with people other than teachers, coworkers, and competition judges.

Mark is a proud USAF veteran, husband to his high school sweetheart who inspires him to write, and father to four amazing kids starting their own lives. Someday, Mark and his wife will settle down in their forever home, finally moving past "Home is where the Air Force sends us."

Book three picks up right after the wild events of Imbolc and then drops you off another cliff at the end. I generally stay as far away from books with cliffhangers, but this series just keeps pulling me along, and I can't stop. I won't. The story is too compelling, the characters feel too real, and......more
