About Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was a store owner, postmaster, county surveyor, and lawyer, before sitting in both the House of Representatives and Senate. He was our 16th President, being elected twice, and serving until his assassination in 1865. He is best known for leading the United States through the Civil War, and his anti-slavery stance.

This 110 year old book is falling apart, but it is priceless as it includes a facsimile signed copy of Lincoln's Gettysberg Address. A valuable resource. My copy was published in 1897 and contained pressed four-leaf clovers pressed between the pages, thanks to its previous owner. All of the entries paint Lincoln in a rose-tinted glow, as befits the time period in historiography, but a marvelous read nonetheless.......more
