Synopsis

Being a bouncer at a Heavy Metal/Goth bar sounds pretty exciting . . . unless you're one of Odin's Chosen Warriors hiding out from Valhalla and your past. So Magnus a.k.a. Mouse is less than thrilled when Fate drops a supernatural murder at his feet. Is there any way he can stop the killer without tripping over his own secrets? Or will the cops, the feds, or his Valkyrie find him first? And can someone explain how his pet raven is learning to speak Norse?

About Steve Curry

Steve Curry is a fledgling author just beginning to use a wide spread of experiences and careers. His current forays into writing are urban fantasy infused with culinary tidbits from a decade as a Le Cordon Bleu chef. Military weapons and protocols plus realistic medical and physical descriptions abound from his work with Uncle Sam's Army NBC branch and time as a licensed respiratory therapist in ICUs across the nation. Toss in lots of mythology, new age religion, supernatural goodness, and real world history along with a soupcon of Jim Butcher's humor, and a few pinches of Robert Parker's character building traits to see how he'll entertain you. He currently resides in West Texas under the management of a yellow hound dog with claims on most of a large bed. Others in the hierarchy are an imperial princess and rainbow unicorn riding granddaughter, his wife, the imperial queen and mistress of eyerolls, and an uncountable horde of invading mongrel cats.

I really liked the story and the hero's back story was very interesting. I will definitely check out the rest of the......more

Recap: Doorman Magnus discovers a mutilated body outside the heavy metal club he works at. Then everything hits the fan. Review: I like Magnus but not the excessive beatings he received, it gets repetitive. Norse mythology is very popular at the moment and kudos for setting it in modern-day however......more

A good book that took a while to work out just what was happening both with the main character and the plot. Sure the synopsis gave you an idea of what the story was about and you get waiting for the ball to drop and for the actual truth to be revealed but it took a while. This though did not detrac......more
