Synopsis

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Robert Rotstein, A True Verdict is an edge-of-your-seat legal thriller filled with secrets.MediMiracle Corporation manufactures Sophrosyne, a miracle cure for opiate addiction. Ellison Ricard, a research analyst for the company, claims to have uncovered data that proves Black users of Sophrosyne experience fatal side effects far more often than people of other races. When Ricard confronts MediMiracle’s charismatic founder and CEO, Peyton Burke, a violent confrontation ensues. The wheelchair-bound Ricard—a Black man who had been severely injured years earlier—is fired that very day.Ricard turns to aging lawyer M. Bailey Klaus, to sue Burke and MediMiracle for civil rights violations, alleging that Ricard was fired because he blew the whistle on the coverup and because he was Black. Klaus faces off against his former protégé, Cicely Pagano, each arguing for drastically different versions of Ricard. Is he a brilliant, sincere, credible person who is rightfully standing up against a deadly product? Or is he a delusional, embittered, and avaricious liar who is taking advantage of his former employer?Ricard’s fate rests with an eight-person jury who can’t agree on anything. Working together to reach a consensus means navigating a tempest of the most divisive issues: politics, sexism, drug abuse, capitalism, healthcare, and racism. Can eight people with different backgrounds, ages, classes, and political views avoid coming to blows, much less render a true verdict? Told through court transcripts and jury deliberations, A True Verdict is a suspenseful ride to a shocking outcome …

About Sean Pratt

Sean Pratt (AEA/SAG/AFTRA) has been a working professional actor in the theater, film, TV, and voice-overs for twenty-five years. He has been an audiobook narrator for seventeen years, has recorded over 700 books in almost every genre, and has received eight AudioFile magazine Earphones Awards and four Audie Award nominations from the Audio Publishers Association. About Phil Thron

Phil Thron is a classically trained actor who has worked on stage, TV, and behind the microphone for several decades. A voracious reader and a devoted chatterbox, bringing these skills to the world of audiobook narration was a natural evolution, and for several years now, a wonderful obsession. Now, nothing gives him more pleasure than bringing authors' worlds to life and getting listeners to "lean in." When he's not recording from his home studio in New Jersey, Phil can be found playing tennis, reading or listening to books, watching movies, spending time with his family, and, perhaps, playing guitar. Badly. Really badly. Don't laugh, it's just an unfortunate truth.

About Kelli Tager

Kelli Tager is an award-winning narrator and longtime L.M. Montgomery fan. A classically trained actor, she earned her MA in Shakespeare Studies in the UK, then worked in theater/film for many years before discovering the world of voice-over. Now she only works behind the mic. Audiobooks are the perfect marriage between her love of performance and her love of literature.

About Natalie Naudus

Natalie Naudus is one of the most beloved audiobook narrators working today and now author of her debut novel, Gay the Pray Away.

About Fajer Al-Kaisi

Fajer Al-Kaisi is an actor for the stage and screen as well as an accomplished voice-over artist and narrator with over a hundred audiobook credits. His TV appearances include Law & Order, Future Man, The Code, 30 Rock, Nurse Jackie, The Blacklist, The Onion News Network, Person of Interest, Delocated, Search Party, Madam Secretary, and Deadbeat. His theatrical credits include: Tareq in the Guthrie's production of Nora, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Aeneas in Troilus and Cressida at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Grahm/2 in the world premiere of Informed Consent at Cleveland Playhouse, and Shahid the translator in the NYTW world premiere of Aftermath and the subsequent Arktype World tour. His additional regional credits include: The Humans, Disgraced, and The Invisible Hand.
