Synopsis

An emotional and hopeful debut that asks: Can first love survive 18 years, 11,000 miles and a lifetime of misunderstandings?“How I loved this story... It has it all—an evocative setting, complicated characters and a tale that keeps you turning those pages. Super!” —Imogen ClarkEighteen years ago, teenage Amy fled England, pregnant and heartbroken, to start over in New Zealand with her parents. Now Chris, the love she left behind, has walked into her beloved café by the beach and thrown her life into turmoil. As far as Amy’s concerned, Chris chose to ignore the child she was carrying when they last met. She brought up their daughter alone and created a happy home for them both on the other side of the world. But with Chris suddenly back in her life, she can no longer ignore the past and begins to wonder what really happened all those years ago.Old secrets and new revelations cast Amy’s world into doubt. What if this is her last chance at something truly meaningful? Can there really be a happy ending for everyone?

About Jane Crittenden

Jane Crittenden is a homes and interiors journalist, who writes regularly for magazines such as 25 Beautiful Homes, Grand Designs and House Beautiful, and finds that writing about house projects is the perfect excuse to meet people and ask (lots of) questions. She has had stints of living in Canada, Greece, Spain, Ghana and New Zealand. Nowadays, she lives by the coast in Hove with her husband, two children and labradoodle, where she enjoys the beach and reading and writing in local cafés (often giving into the temptation of a homemade brownie). Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité p......more

A brilliant 14 instalment of the chapter book series. Lots of suspense and plot twists in this one. Characters are well and truly the centre of attention in this continuation... building up more dialect for the rest of the series and with it more suspense......more
