About Suzanne Barbetta

Suzanne Barbetta is a professionally trained actress based in New York City. She's earned a Voice Arts Award, AudioFile Earphones Awards, and an Audie nomination. As a kid she was a bookish, bossy, rambunctious Jersey girl who loved performing, dinosaurs, dragons, and classic cars. (If she'd been athletic, she would have been a tomboy . . . instead, she was a mischief-magnet.) At ten years old, already a voracious reader, she discovered her little sister "hated reading." So she pulled out her dog-eared Nancy Drews and read them aloud to her, (avoiding a stint in juvie and sowing the seeds of a career narrating audiobooks). When not recording, this still-geeky-girl loves scuba-diving reefs and wrecks, watching Giants football, and dreaming of flying dragons.

Vera is a wonderfully flawed and confused character. J. Rose has a feel for the confusion I remember as a preteen. Nav......more

The book follows Vera as she works to make friends at a new......more
