A native of Wisconsin, Laura Fitzgerald lives in Arizona with her husband, who is of Iranian descent, and their two children. Her favorite part of being an author is interacting with readers and attending book clubs by phone and in person.
I rarely write a review for any book - having a disability makes typing difficult. This lets you know how special this book is. Fabulously written, it feels so real that you can't help but feel it is a first person account of a powerful experience of the first taste of freedom. I enjoyed seeing America through her eyes. She takes nothing for granted and sees every day occurrences -- a girl wearing a mi......more
So I am a little partial to chick-lit to begin with, and very partial towards books that depict Persian life and culture, so this book was a very pleasing combination of the two and since it told an engaging story to boot, I give it high marks. Tami is a frustrated, repressed 27-year-old wasting away......more
