Synopsis

Expert investigator Mel Davitt is brought in when the new State Bank of Milton is robbed. Just outside of town, Davitt joins up with Buck Granger, a young cowpuncher who helps him catch the bank robber known as the Crow. This is the beginning of a partnership that will apprehend rustlers and thieves.

About Robert J. Horton

Robert J. Horton (1881–1934) was an author of over twenty Western novels. He traveled extensively in the West, working for a time as a sports editor in Great Falls, Montana. He was a regular contributor to Western Story Magazine.

About Traber Burns

Traber Burns worked for thirty-five years in regional theater, including the New York, Oregon, and Alabama Shakespeare festivals. He also spent five years in Los Angeles appearing in many television productions and commercials, including Lost, Close to Home, Without a Trace, Boston Legal, Grey’s Anatomy, Cold Case, Gilmore Girls, and others.

The book is a rough combination of three stories and while each story is not bad, the combination is not particularly artful. The two main characters are interesting in their own right. The dialogue that propels the story is somewhat dull and plodding.......more
