Hard to give this anything other than 5 stars. Being an absolute novice on the subject, I found this book fascinating, horrifying, edifying, and generally mind-blowing. Incredible. This masterpiece is the definitive history of World War Two. Beevor writes incredibly detailed accounts of all the battles and political maneuvering in lucid prose that never bogs down.
