Synopsis

When Charm became Queen of Karisma, the Silversmith made her a precious gift. A bracelet. On it are fastened 13 silver amulets, called 'charms' in honour of the new queen. The bracelet is magic with the power to control the forces of nature and keep everything in balance. As long as Queen Charm, and she alone, has possession of the bracelet all will be well. And so it was until Zorgan, the evil magician, stole the bracelet and scattered the charms far and wide. Then there was chaos!

Meanwhile, in our world (the 'Outworld' to Karismans), Sesame Brown is waiting to go shopping with her best friend Maddy. Little does she know she's about to be whisked away on the adventure of a lifetime. She's about to become a Charmseeker. Ses suddenly finds herself in a strange new land with castles and forests, princesses and magicians, the friendly tunganoras, Hob and Fig, and the less friendly gribblers. The race is on to find the charms and Sesame is determined to win.

About Georgie Adams

Georgie Adams was born in Tunbridge Wells, and grew up in Kent and Sussex. She was an editor for many years in the UK and Australia, was co-director of a small publishing company in London, before becoming a successful writer of children's books. She has written over 70 books, mostly for young children. Georgie is married to artist and printmaker, Tom Adams, has two daughters and three stepchildren, and lives in a rural part of North Cornwall, overlooking the Kensey Valley. About Gwen Millward

Gwen Millward was brought up and went to school in Wales, UK, after which she moved to Edinburgh to study art where she graduated with a First in illustration and was awarded the Helen A. Rose Bequest for art. Gwen's first picture book, Guess What I Found In Dragon Wood (text by Tim Knapman), was published by Puffin, as was The Bog Baby by Jeanne Willis, and a collaboration with Jenny Nimmo, The Beasties, by Egmont. She has since published many more, including two about Bear and Bird which she has written herself. Most recently, Gwen has illustrated Stories from Bug Garden (Candlewick), happily and neatly combining her love of art and insects. She now lives in Bristol with her son.

About Kate O'Sullivan

Actress, impressionist and singer, Kate has worked on a sketch show for BBC3, supplied all female voices/impressions for both 2DTV and HEDZ and in the West End she has played Cecily Cardew in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Mistress Dainty in LUST and Magenta in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. She is also lead singer in The Rocky Horror Band. She has also narrated The Charmseekers and Railway Rabbits audio series for Orion.

might sound extremely cheesy but this was the series that made me fall in move with reading i literally went to the library every day because they wouldn't let me take more than 2 books at once and i devoured them as soon as i got home so i had to go again the next day......more
