Synopsis

In 1 Corinthians chapter 12 the apostle Paul writes: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” Sadly, today many Christians are poorly equipped to understand what the Bible has to say about the Holy Spirit. Throughout the Old Testament we see the revealed power of God referred to as the “Spirit of God” (at creation, anointing prophets, etc.). Yet clearly the Holy Spirit is more than just the force of God, he is a person. In the New Testament Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Triune God. To comprehend the character and conduct of the Holy Spirit you must understand that he is a person, that he is God, and that he has a specific purpose.

Although I’m not sure how much I agree with Graham’s view on the sign gifts I can certainly respect his way of continuing to pursue biblical truth. However Hi......more

Graham achieves what he is trying to do with this book — helping people understand who the Holy Spirit is and what he does in our lives and in the world. I appreciate that Graham so clearly seeks unity rather than division all the way through. A few details I find hard to agree with, because he does......more
