A great read largely providing a broad overview of Charlemagne. The events leading up to being crowned Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire through the failure of his heirs to maintain the empire. Highly recommend for those looking to expand there understanding of history without digging into minutia.......more

This is another book that I read for research purposes rather than enjoyment, but I'm overall pleased with the series. Captivating guides are quick reads, not dryly written, and free on Kindle Unlimited. This guide focuses on the Carolingian Empire, whose most famous individual is undoubtedly Charlem......more

Will avoid this series in the future Poorly sourced and poorly written, not much else to say here. In the future I'll stick to the Charles River Editors series for cheap/free historical intros. The sources were abyssmal.......more
