Synopsis

When photographer Georgina Drake visits a charming Norfolk vineyard to interview rising star winemaker Gaby Edwards, she expects to capture the perfect shot - not dig up long-buried secrets. But her crime-sniffing spaniel Bert has other ideas, uncovering mysterious bones in the vineyard's south field. And there's another shock in store: Gaby's brother Nathan is found dead in a vat of wine, and their artist brother Ashley has vanished. With two mysteries fermenting and the police ready to charge the wrong suspect, Georgina knows there's more to this vintage than meets the eye. Could the century-old skeleton hold the key to the present-day murder? Georgina must untangle a web of family rivalries, organic farming feuds, and buried secrets before someone else ends up crushed like yesterday's grapes. One thing's for certain - this investigation is going to need a very particular nose for crime. Good thing Bert's on the case!

About Kate Hardy

Kate’s written for as long as she can remember; it started with stories about ponies and dogs, moved into ghosts and history, and then into local history and romance. She’s won three Romantic Novelists’ Association awards for her romantic fiction – and is thoroughly enjoying her new life of crime! She lives in Norwich with her husband, two grown-up children, two spaniels and too many books to count. When she’s not writing or researching, she’ll be out at a gig or the theatre, at ballet class, doing cross-stitch, taking photographs of the sunrise while persuading the spaniels to stay still for one second, fossicking around on a beach or in archives, or exploring ancient buildings. She loves learning new things, which is why you’ll always discover something different in a Kate Hardy book. Oh - and, like her heroine Georgina Drake, Kate's deaf but doesn't let it hold her back in any way.
