Very cute book about a bird who wants a family and adopts (or maybe kidnaps) 10 little eggs. All turn out vastly different but are formed into a unique loving family. Nice rhyming. Beautiful illustrations with lots of detail to encourage conversation and interaction.......more

5/13/2020 ~ I think this is supposed to be an animal stand-in for blended families (adoption, foster). I found it too silly to be thought provoking. The rhyme scheme was derivative (think ten little monkeys) and the illustrations were inaccurate. I understand that fiction/fantasy picture books often......more

Four stars for all the GIGGLES this one brought! My 6 year old daughter just thought it was hilarious to see what popped out of each egg- as it got a big wilder and wilder as the story went on.
