Wayne D. Overholser (1906–1996) was an American Western writer from Pomeroy, Washington. He won the 1953 Spur Award for Best Novel for Lawman, written under the pseudonym Lee Leighton, and the 1954 Spur Award for The Violent Land.

Stephen Overholser was born in Bend, Oregon, the son of Western author Wayne D. Overholser. He grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where he lives with his family.

About Ramiz Monsef

Ramiz Monsef has spent several seasons as a member of Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s acting company, and he is the playwright of OSF’s 2013 production The Unfortunates. He has also appeared onstage in New York and in numerous regional productions.

One of the things I like about short stories is that you are dropped right into the middle of the action, so to speak. This is a really good collection of western yarns. Listened on audio book with narrator, Ramiz Monsef, having a great western-telling-voice. It’s a good listen.......more
