Synopsis

The laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, all about the highs and lows of modern dating, with a cheeky twist...

******

Newly single Jean is dating again... it just so happens that she's dating a married couple.

Straight-laced Jean has just broken up with her overgrown baby of a boyfriend. At 30, she's always done what's expected of her - by her traditional parents, by her demanding boss, and by her disaster of an ex-boyfriend - and if she doesn't have some fun now, when will she?

Taking her life into her own hands, she decides to do something that takes her out of her comfort zone, and embarks on a sexual awakening. A woman heels-over-head, and not head-over-heels, in love. Jean's sexual liberation is off to a cracking start when she meets married-but-open pianist Gabriel. What better way to explore all that modern romance has to offer than with a polyamorous love affair? From navigating tricky waters with Gabriel and his wife, to dating a pansexual couple, via a masked sex party and orgasmic meditation retreat, Jean screams 'Yes!!' to life.

But can relationships last, without entangled hearts being broken?

Now this is a tricky book to review, don't get me wrong for the most part I really enjoyed it, and there were elements of the story that I absolutely loved. Equally though there were some sections that I just didn't really understand at all, and some of the concepts were beyond my comprehension. I d......more

This is a fun read…..a modern look at the more free thinking approach to life, sex and relationships. Jean has a boyfriend, Charlie, a charming, but thoroughly useless POS….when he pees in Jean’s velvet stilettos, she’s had enough…when he drunkenly sets fire to a wedding marquee she finally dumps him......more

This is a fantastic read. You get sucked into the story and just have to know what happens. Before bed, I loved tucking into the story, which was so well drawn and relevant. This book is very relatable but also presents unusual moral dilemmas and concepts, which is fascinating to be be privy to. Man......more

Quotes

There's a bank holiday coming which means time to relax with a good book - they don't come better or more laugh out loud funny than Erin Reinelt's Strings Attached. The Guardian

Remember when romantic comedies were all about two straight people falling in love and living happily ever after? Well real life isn't always like that so I'm so glad Erin Reinelt wrote the hilarious Strings Attached about polyamorous relationships, great sex, sex with food poisoning and living an exciting life beyond the conventional fence. Flipping great holiday novel!

I loved it! Witty. Sexy. Honest. A modern day delight.

Dazzling! A stunning, sexy, surprising, super-modern romance that dares to delve where no romcom has gone before. I loved it.

Strings Attached is hilarious, insightful and totally bingeable. It's like if Bridget Jones decided to become polyamorous
