I wasn't a huge fan of this story. The characters weren't bad. I like both Jane and Barclay, but I do feel it took way too long to get to the end of the story. A nice continuation of this series. The stories can be read independently, but there is a certain continuity, there are recurring characters, and it's just a beautiful series.
