The young French noblewoman is the definition of elegance and charm. But her trip across the Channel isn’t all pleasure. She’s come to present them with the opportunity of a lifetime – an art connoisseur’s dream – and the bidding is about to commence. Two angles. One audacious plan.Scarlet Haslewood is about to orchestrate the greatest confidence scheme of her career. It could make her infamous overnight – not to mention filthy rich. Assuming, of course, that she doesn’t miss a step. After all, who would have thought that a bag of dried fruit, a faulty hinge, and a chivalrous stranger who quotes Jane Austen would ultimately be her undoing......let alone her salvation!____________________This first installment sets the stage for The Haslewood Mysteries, a fun and clever twist on traditional 1920’s mystery. From London to Istanbul, Paris to the Riviera, follow con artist-turned-sleuth Scarlet Haslewood as she uses her nose for mischief to uncover all sorts of dodgy and dastardly chicanery - and learns how to use her unique set of ‘talents’ to turn the tables and bring the criminals to justice!"She is witty, fearless and so original...I can't wait for more Scarlet." ~Christmas Angel, Amazon review

3.5 stars - I thoroughly enjoyed this cosy mystery! I always enjoy a good heist story, and this is a great example of a perfect heist. Plus, it's set in 1920s Paris, London and Venice, which is a wonderful backdrop for any story. I liked Scarlet as a main character: she's smart, cunning, wears the m......more
