Synopsis

For fans of Elin Hilderbrand, Liane Moriarty, and Lisa Gardner — Caribbean mystery with soul, heat, and a woman who refuses to stay broken.Attorney Katie Connell has spent years being the most capable person in any room. Then she has the worst week of her career on live television, and the room she ends up in is a first-class cabin to the U.S. Virgin Islands, where she plans to drink herself into a manageable grief and figure out what's left of her life. What she finds instead: a haunted plantation estate she buys on impulse, a community that doesn't quite trust the newcomer, and the uneasy suspicion that her parents' deaths on these same islands weren't the accident everyone called them. Estate Annalise is beautiful and broken, exactly like Katie. The locals say it has a jumbie — a spirit — and Katie is starting to believe them. The investigation pulls Katie into the island's layered history of loyalty, corruption, and old money — and straight toward the wealthy power broker who had her parents killed. She's a lawyer, not a detective. She's also the only person asking the right questions. And someone has noticed.Saving Grace is the first novel in Pamela Fagan Hutchins' beloved Katie Connell series — sun-soaked and sharply plotted, part mystery, part love story, part recovery narrative. Written by an author who lived on St. Croix and knows these islands from the inside: the warmth, the wildness, the beauty that doesn't fully belong to outsiders, and the secrets the water keeps. She came to the islands to fall apart. She stayed to find out what her parents died for.Buy Saving Grace today and dive into a tropical mystery packed with suspense, laughs, and second chances. The Katie Connell Series is Part 1 of the interconnected world of Hutchins' What Doesn't Kill You Super Series.

Katie Connell is a Dallas attorney who is having a bad time dealing with life after losing her parents on the US Virgin Island, St. Marcos to an auto accident. Katie is a successful......more

Saving Grace was a breath of fresh air. The book is ripe with mystery and suspense with just the right amount of romance in the air for flavouring. I was drawn into the book from the very beginning. The biggest thing for me was the excellent description of Caribbean life. As a Caribbean woman, I can......more
