Synopsis

AN INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER!

Two people who can’t stand each other must come together to plan their mutual ex’s wedding in this new romantic comedy by Taleen Voskuni, author of Lavash at First Sight.

Ani Avakian was supposed to be the Bay Area’s premier Armenian wedding planner by now. But after a huge blow to her business, she’s determined to redeem herself by taking on the biggest job of her career: a wedding for an indie movie star. The wedding is set at a stunning Armenian-owned winery, and Ani is eager to connect with the owner, who she’ll be working closely with. But then she actually meets him. Sure, Raffi is ridiculously hot and charming, but he’s also insufferably smug. Though the real gut punch comes when Ani meets the happy couple—because the actress’s fiancée is none other than the woman who shattered her heart two years ago: her ex-girlfriend, Kami.

All Raffi Garabedian has ever wanted is to make his father proud. Taking over the family winery should be his dream come true—but its first major event is off to a rocky start, thanks to one irritating(-ly beautiful) wedding planner who challenges him at every turn. He’s shocked to find that they have one thing in common, however: their mutual ex, Kami. Despite the record level of awkwardness, they’ll have to work together to make sure this wedding goes perfectly. But first, they’ll have to deal with the tension sizzling between them—before it turns their ex’s nuptials into a full-blown disaster…or something much more scandalous.

I fear Rafi Garabedian is that guy. Reformed playboy, former doctor, stylish, AND a member of a feminist book club?! Get in my bed Rafi, now! And to be fair Ani Avakian is also that girl, she can get in my bed too. We can make it a party! Our Ex’s Wedding was such a fun read! Laugh out loud funny, he......more

I absolutely loved this romcom! The premise is out there (and a perfect set up for hilarious situations.) Two people end up planning the wedding of their mutual ex. Both main characters were so well developed and I loved both of them. The FMC is bisexual and both main characters are Armenian. Raffi......more

Voskuni does it again with Our Ex’s Wedding—what a propulsive, sweet, and (as usual) laugh-out-loud funny love story! I cannot recommend it enough. Unlike Voskuni’s other novels, this time we have a MMC, Raffi, and what an absolute TREAT he is. Peak book boyfriend. Gorgeous (of course), smart as hell......more

Firstly thank you to Net Galley & Berkley for this ARC. I genuinely enjoyed this Armenian romance and enjoyed learning about the culture as well. I thought the plot was super cute and spicy in its own way. Ani is in debt with her wedding planning business and then her ex Kami comes to her to plan he......more

I will read everything Taleen Voskuni writes! There is something so special and healing about seeing Armenian characters (and queer Armenian characters) in a romcom. This one was a bit different than her previous 2 books. It's dual POV (with a male main character) and written in 3rd person. I think t......more

Quotes

"Voskuni's Our Ex's Wedding reminds me of everything I love most about the Harlequin Presents romances I grew up with—a rich, hot former playboy meets his match in a scarily competent wedding planner, set against a lush Napa backdrop. Only this version is queer, modern, and grounded with two characters you'll root for separately and together. From the minute I got to the premise of this book—my jaw dropped when they realized they'd BOTH dated the bride-to-be!—I couldn't read fast enough to see how it would all unfold."—Alicia Thompson, USA Today bestselling author of Never Been Shipped

"Our Ex’s Wedding is a breathtaking and sexy escape to California wine country. Readers will laugh, cry, and toss back the popcorn as this cinematic romance unfolds between an event planner orchestrating what could be the messiest wedding of the season and a new-to-the-game vineyard owner with more than a little dark edge. Nosy Armenian families, a dash of mystery, and spice that absolutely singes gild this emotional and high-stakes romance that delivers on passion and true connection."—Annie Mare, author of Cosmic Love at the Multiverse Hair Salon

"Taleen's stories about love and family, identity and finding your place in this world, are as hilarious as they are tender and affirming. Her books have me laughing one minute and swooning the next--and loving every second of it. I can't wait to read what she writes next!"—Jenna Levine, USA Today bestselling author of My Vampire Plus-One

“Funny, wise, and tender, Our Ex's Wedding is a deliciously tense romance. I loved watching Ani and Raffi fall in love in the most unlikely of situations. A pure romantic delight!"—Ashley Herring Blake, USA Today bestselling author of Get Over It, April Evans

“This book is everything I look for in a queer romance. The dreamy California wine country setting creates a stunning backdrop for the shenanigans and sexy times that unfold as Ani and Raffi fall in love over the shared horror of working their (shared!) ex’s wedding. This is bi-chaos perfection written by one of my all-time favorite authors!”—Rebekah Faubion, author of The Lovers and The Sun and the Moon

"Voskuni returns to the same winning blend of humor, romance, and culture that made her debut, Sorry, Bro (2023), so unputdownable, but her latest feels like a natural evolution of all her best traits as a writer. With sparkling chemistry, plenty of nods to classic rom-coms, and a welcome dose of spice, the end result is a slow-burn love story that heats up at the perfect moment... This raucous and riveting romance is Voskuni’s best yet."—Kirkus, starred review

"Voskuni keeps the twists and turns coming, accompanied by flirty banter, energetic prose, and characters who are easy to love, including an expansive supporting cast of well-meaning but invasive family members. This is good fun."—Publishers Weekly

"Shining... is Voskuni’s love for the Armenian American community, and it’s a pleasure to get a glimpse of their culture through the story...Rom-com fans will giggle and swoon through this novel."—Library Journal

"I picked this for readers who love big rom-com energy, cultural specificity, secondhand embarrassment in the best way, and slow-burn chemistry with high stakes, especially fans of Jasmine Guillory or Christina Lauren. It made me cackle and clutch my chest; the payoff feels earned and so satisfying.”BiblioStyle
