Old Wounds

Elaine Rowe is a Toronto writer who likes to write for children (and others) about unexpectedly talented animals and resourceful women. After years of hiding her light under a bushel, she decided to see if anyone else likes her stories. As the author explains, "Old Wounds was sparked by a story I heard one evening on the CBC radio program 'As It Happens,' just as Myra does in this story. When I heard it, I wondered what had happened all those years ago when this plane disappeared. Who was waiting at home for the vanished pilot? What happened--or didn't happen--because he never came home? Myra appeared in my imagination and told me her story."
