Synopsis

“Of All Possible Worlds” by William Tenn is a gripping mid-20th century science fiction novella that blends time travel, dystopian futures, and moral paradoxes. Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly epidemic known as the Blight, the story follows Max Alben, a time-traveling operative sent back to 1976 to prevent a catastrophic missile launch. But as Alben navigates a fractured timeline and conflicting futures, he must weigh the cost of altering history against the fate of humanity. With sharp social commentary and deep ethical questions, Tenn’s story is a thought-provoking exploration of choice, responsibility, and the ripple effects of interference.

He was compared to Robert Sheckley on Goodreads so I figured I'd give him a sho......more

A surprisingly lighthearted and thoughtful collection of stories! The first and the last I particularly liked: - Team building with your zombie kamikaze bomber squad. - Using a stooge to test your time-travel machine. - A history of the destructive 'liberations' of earth (again and again). - Love potion......more

I really like this collection of William Tenn's stories. Very fun to read, pretty much like Sheckley, but not so resourcefully. And some stories just break in a half, without revealing pledged ideas. Just several good fantastic things, generally. It's hard to formulate one big opinion of this book.......more
