Carol Lynch Williams is the award-winning author of numerous books, including The Chosen One, Miles from Ordinary, and If I Forget, You Remember. She has an MFA in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College and won the prestigious PEN/Phyllis Naylor Working Writer Fellowship. Her books have been featured on numerous lists of recommended YA fiction and named one of the ALA's Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers and Best Books for Young Adult Readers. She also won the Whitney and the Association of Mormon Letters awards for the best young adult novel of the year. She is a graduate of the Vermont College MFA program. She facilitates the children's writing conferences at Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University. Carol lives in Utah with her family.

I found this book to be a really good read. It is written well for the younger readers. Although, the subject matter that this book deals with is better read for the mature young audience or at least read as a family book. This way parents can help explain death. This was a very interesting read. I felt like it was a good way to show children how deal with the death of a loved one, however, I had a hard time with the way the characters spoke. It could have been because I was tired, but it felt like I had to translate in my head what they were saying at times......more
