About Ruth Stiles Gannett

Ruth Stiles Gannett was born in 1923 and wrote her first novel at age 25. “My Father’s Dragon” was a 1948 Newberry Honor Book and went on to be an ALA notable Book. Her other titles include The Wonderful House-Boat-Train and Katie and the Sad Noise. The granddaughter of Unitarian minister and reformer Ezra Stiles Gannett, she is married to artist and calligrapher Peter Kahn and lives in upstate New York, near Cornell University.
