Synopsis

I have wondered at the many ways life turns me inside and out every day of my life. I do my best to see life with depth and breath. A broader lens of what I see day to day. That with practice and intent, I will find the uncommon in everyday life. That simply living my daily experiences can in itself become a form of art.Uncovering the extraordinary in each day stimulates me to step out of same old, same old.It stirs me and how I interact with everything I come in contact with.
For the most part, this book has come together aroused by thoughts and feelings from my everyday life. Some are deeper, more insightful. Others are lighter and more playful. Some are haunting with vivid memories that follow me through my life.I hope that everyone who is drawn to this book will resonate in some way with the stories and my photographs on the pages.I feel the photographs tell a story in themselves. An Excerpt from Musings, Woolgathering, and Ghosts:“Life is many things and all the in-between.How big and wide will you live your life?Or will the fear of this day cause your experience to be narrowed, smaller?Starvation is not always about the stomach. It is all about the view.” CK continues to live a life of curiosity. She considers herself to be seeker. An explorer. Her many ventures in life attest to this.In her earlier years she was in the entertainment field. She has been a trained mediator. She was in the corporate world for almost 30 years. She trained as a Spiritual practitioner, and later became a certified hypnotherapist bringing a deeper understanding of the inner mind. She has facilitated many groups in a variety of subjects and collage art for years.CK has since “retired” from her businesses to spend more time reimagining her life.

I would actually give it a 3.5 stars. I’m just beginning to attempt to get into poetry. I found that some poems connected with me while others did not. A few I truly enjoyed were A letter of love, Coming of age and Offering. Read this outside in a park which enhances the connection to nature around......more

This is a collection rich with touchstones from everyday life - a copper penny, a clock, unopened letters - around which are created beautiful and tender moments. Characters connect us with our childhoods, with neighbors, with strangers we pass on the street; we pause to notice them, to delight in t......more

As a reader and a reviewer, I have never actually spent a lot of time with the poetry/prose genre. I always felt it was not exactly my thing and was not sure how one would write a review about a book such as this. But the title called to me and I am happy to say, after reading “Musings, Woolgatherin......more

I can totally relate to Kas’s comments in the foreword, that she already felt somewhat cocooned in her life long before coronavirus came along. Then, lockdown gave her time for reflection, to see the world anew, re-evaluate her future and reprioritize what is important – I can relate to this, too. W......more
