Synopsis

Demi had a one night stand back in college who left her jilted and in love. Years later he shows up again, every bit as cute and an even better player than when he was young. She still can’t help her attraction to him. He’s built, confident and knows what he wants. Her husband Peter sees the connection and doesn’t know what to do about it. He understands that this other man is a more physically dominant specimen, and he can’t compete on that level. As far as physically dominant men go, Peter and Demi have not seen anything yet. They are headed off white water rafting for the weekend, and concerns over this ex-lover from college are completely blown out of the water when they become lost and stranded in the deep woods, their canoes and all supplies washed away in the flooded river. Their rescuer is a giant of a man not long out of prison.

Have you ever read a book that delivered more than it promised? My first reaction when I finished the last page was sadness, a pure sadness I haven't felt since as a child I escaped into the books around me and, reading the last page, knew the adventure ended and my between-the-covers friends were n......more

I read this book years ago and had forgotten it until someone here brought it up. I got the paperback version of the book back when the Robert Redford movie based on it came out. I have in my "reading life" gone through periods when I'd read almost exclusively from one genre. This was read during one......more
