I have sat on rating or reviewing this book for a few days. It started off odd, confusing, and sometimes painfully slow. I normally read a book over a matter of days and this was months. OK, I LOVED this. I'm not sure why it took me so long to pick up Penelope Williamson's detective novels. This was lush and beautiful and gripping.
