Wanda Gág (1893–1946) was born in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of an artist and the eldest of seven children. In recognition of her rare artistry, she was the posthumous recipient of the 1958 Lewis Carroll Shelf Award for Millions of Cats and the 1977 Kerlan Award for the body of her work.
Angie Hickman has been in love with words for as long as she can remember. Angie received a BA in secondary English education from Indiana University while also pursuing theater, performing in shows from Shakespeare to Pinter. She expanded her passion for words through her work in libraries and bookstores, as a high school English teacher, and now, as an audiobook narrator. When she's not sitting in a tiny padded room and letting the voices in her head come out to play, Angie enjoys playing in the dirt growing veggies and getting lost in her fabric collection while sewing.

I know people don't like jokes at the expense of the lives of animals, but it was still a joke. This book was published in 1928 - the Roaring 20s.......more
I really enjoyed this story about a couple who feel the need to share their lovely house with a special someone. When the old man goes off in search of a cat he finds more than he bargained for and as the title suggests he comes home with more than the one kitty. (view spoiler)[ when they end up with too many cats (hide spoiler)]......more
I’m shocked. I really liked this book. I read it only because it’s a selection of the Newbery book club for the Children's Books group, and I’m not participating until they get to 1953 or so (mostly because of reading time considerations; I do like the idea of reading every single Newberry and Newbe......more
