Synopsis

After the fall of the American Ayatollahs as foretold in Stranger in a Strange Land and chronicled in Revolt in 2100, the United States of America at last fulfills the promise inherent in its first Revolution: for the first time in human history there is a nation with Liberty and Justice for All.No one may seize or harm the person or property of another, or invade his privacy, or force him to do his bidding. Americans are fiercely proud of their re-won liberties and the blood it cost them: nothing could make them forswear those truths they hold self-evident. Nothing except the promise of immortality..

About Robert A. Heinlein

Robert A Heinlein is considered one of the Big Three of classic science fiction (along with Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke). Heinlein is a seven-time Hugo Award recipient and was given the first Grand Master Nebula Award for lifetime achievement. Heinlein’s juveniles alone have influenced generations of scientists, engineers and creators the world over (for instance, it was once estimated that everyone in the Apollo 11 mission control room had read and loved at least one Heinlein novel). His worldwide bestsellers include Have Space Suit — Will Travel, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, Time Enough for Love, and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress.

I bought this book at a bookstore thinking it'd be some new stories (I really ought to have checked the back of the book!) This publis......more

Two books with 4 stories all related to life on Earth after Stranger in a Strange Land. Personal freedom has become burdensome in Revolt in 2100 with Methuselah's Children running away to outer space. Published in 1952 with dated technology. Fun reads setting up further sequels. 3.5 stars A memorabl......more

I think Revolt in 2100 is important to read now as it foreshadows a lot of what is taking place in our society today and what the eventual outcome of those trends will be if we don't wake up. Unfortunately given the way things are going, I don't see the majority waking up.......more
