About The Author

Greg Pizzoli is the creator of the Baloney and Friends graphic novel series, as well as the author and illustrator of the award-winning picture booksThe Watermelon Seed, Good Night Owl, and The Book Hog. He also writes nonfiction for kids, including the New York Times Best Illustrated title Tricky Vic, and he is the illustrator of the Jack series by Mac Barnett. Greg Pizzoli works in a studio he shares with his wife, Kay Healy, who is a printmaker and fiber artist. They live in South Philadelphia with their two daughters, dog, and cats.

This is the first book in a long time that I immediately wanted to reread. I ended up rooting for the hero despite him technically being a bad guy. Little intervals throughout the story give you insight into other characters, or the history of the tale, without interrupting the narrative. Lucky Duck......more

This was a fun and easy read, with lots of laugh out loud moments, and I love how it took me back to the 80s. It was entertaining, engaging and a well written debut novel. This was a fun read and reminded me of all the time I spent in the mall as a teenager. The storyline is imaginative and improbable until the author fills in the blanks, and then you think, "Yeah, maybe that could happen!" I love the part about the dog.
