Synopsis

The Survivors meets Liane Moriarty in this psychologically acute thriller about a seaside community grappling with its dark past as long-hidden secrets begin to inflict new wounds, from million-copy and internationally bestselling author Lucy Clarke

Seven years ago, two boys went missing at sea – and only one was brought to shore. The sandbank, a remote stretch of coast dotted with beach huts, was scarred forever.

Sarah’s son survived all those years ago. But on the anniversary of the accident, he disappears without trace. As new secrets begin to surface, the sandbank hums with tension and unanswered questions. Sarah’s search grows more desperate and she starts to mistrust everyone she knows—and she’s right to. In this summer community where everyone knows each other, someone saw everything on that fateful day seven years ago. And they’ll do anything to keep the truth buried.

An emotional and pule-pounding tale about the dark side of tight friendships and close communities, Last Seen is an explosive addition to “queen of the destination thriller” (Claire Douglas) and internationally bestselling author Lucy Clarke’s masterful oeuvre.

I found the first half of this book a little slow and didn’t really connect with the characters. The second half was much better as secrets were revealed, making it hard to put down. Two best friends. Two sons. One is lost, one is not. That moment in time ripples both outw......more

An absolutely stunning, emotional and fascinating read! This book had me well and truly riveted. I dove into the pages of this and only came up for air at the very end. I could not put it down. This is a book that has a strong and steady pace, don't expect it to hit peaks and lows. It moves along smo......more

When the author of our best book of its year releases a new offering, we greet it with overwhelming enthusiasm, & equal disappointment when we miss the old thrill. I loved The Blue, & whilst I’d not say I exactly hated Last Seen, just compare a fifty-foot offshore sailing yacht with a beach hut. We......more
